Meet the the team at Sterling Grove Accountants who are led by four individuals who together have accumulated nearly 150 years of accountancy and business advisory experience between them.
Our Leaders share a clear vision of progression and have developed the firm, transitioning from accountancy services to business advisers to now acting as a strategic partner to our clients, whether they are individuals, businesses or not-for-profits.
The many years of experience and knowledge of our Leaders is at work every day within our business, working closely with our clients and team to provide trusted advice and expert guidance to ensure optimum performance and a sterling service.
They are supported by a team of talented qualified accountants and trainees who pride themselves on the quality and timely service that they provide to our clients.

Wayne Bailey CA(SA) ACA
Senior Client Manager
Having qualified with a small firm after graduating from the University of Cape Town before leaving public practice to work in the oil industry for a large international company.
Wayne returned to practice in 2015 with O’Sullivan & Co before their merger with Sterling Grove Accountants in 2018.
Displaying a strong background in financial reporting Wayne oversees a large portfolio of personal and business clients at Sterling Grove Accountants.
A family man with two grown up daughters and a grandson Wayne has a passion for rugby and motor cycles.
Emma Lloyd & Mary Jones
Client Payroll Managers
Emma and Mary are the firm’s dedicated client payroll managers.
They are both vastly experienced payroll managers and each manage a large portfolio of payroll clients.
Outside of work both Emma and Mary’s time is spent with their respective families.
Emma’s two grown up children and Mary’s three and a grandson keep them both very busy.
Mary’s passion is travelling and she has visited many diverse countries and cities across the world.
Umberto Urgo ACCA
Senior Client Manager
Umberto joined the accountancy profession after graduating from York University.
A member of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, he started his accountancy career with a predecessor firm of Sterling Grove Accountants and has been with the company for over ten years, now in a role as a client manager.
An excellent all rounder having deep experience and knowledge across a wide range of sectors and industries.
At Sterling Grove Accountants Umberto manages a large portfolio of personal and business clients.
Umberto is a devoted father to three young sons and has a keen interest in Italian football.
Neil Edwards FCCA
Senior Client Manager
A Fellow of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants having been admitted as a member in 2006.
Neil is a well travelled accountant having worked in outsourcing departments for some of the largest accounting firms in the United Kingdom. He has served as a practice manager for smaller accounting firms as well as working in industry for several years before joining Sterling Grove Accountants in 2019.
Today, Neil manages a large portfolio of business and personal clients and is the firm’s online accounting expert leading the transition of many clients from desktop to cloud accounting.
Away from work Neil’s passions are motor racing and his young son.
Hannah Hanson FCCA
Senior Client Manager
A Fellow of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants having been admitted as a member in 2008.
Having qualified with a small firm before joining a predecessor firm of Sterling Grove Accountants in 2008 and has worked with the firm ever since.
Hannah brings vast experience and knowledge to the firm across a number of different business sectors and is especially expert on Charity audits.
Outside of work, Hannah’s time is spent mainly on the football pitch cheering her two young sons, and when she gets free time she enjoys spending it baking.

Gina Shelton ACA
Senior Audit Manager
A member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Gina has been working with the firm and its predecessor firm since 2012 having previously trained with a top 10 accounting firm.
Gina brings her experience and knowledge to all the firm’s audit clients in her role as a senior audit manager.
Our specialist audit team is also headed up by Gina also who is also an expert solicitors accounts rules auditor.
Gina’s busy life outside work is centered around her husband and two young children. Any spare time is spent travelling and socialising with friends and family.
Marie King ACCA
Senior Client Manager
A member of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants who has worked with Sterling Grove Accountants and its predecessor firm since 2014.
Qualifying in 2018 Marie brings her experience and skills to a portfolio of mixed business and personal clients.
Marie’s clients span a wide range of sectors including recruitment, retail and property development.
Free moments and spare time for Marie are enjoyed with her husband, her son and daughter.
Kaley Cooper ACCA
Client Manager
Kaley qualified as an accountant after having joined the firm in 2020 and is currently training towards her professional tax qualificaion.
She has been working on a range of clients including those in sectors such as retail, automotive and marketing and has a particular interest in tax.
Kaley often spends her spare time training her sheepdog, Stan, and competing at sheepdog trials.
Louise Barnes
Client Payroll Manager
Louise joined the firm in 2025 and looks after a portfolio of payroll clients.
Away from work, Louise enjoys cooking, family parties and weekends away exploring new places.
She has a husband and three older children.
Hannah Wood
Client Payroll Manager
Hannah has over 18 years working in the accountancy sector.
Hannah joined the firm as part of the merger with Diverset Accountants in 2025.
Hannah also provides bookkeeping and company secretarial services to the firm’s clients.
Away from work, Hannah is busy with her four young children or taking them to their extra curriculum activities.
Holly Hooper CA
Senior Client Advisor
Holly graduated with a first class degree in Accounting and Economics from Southampton University in 2001 before joining one of the world’s leading accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers (Pwc).
Holly qualified as a chartered accountant at Pwc and then embarked on a career in industry working for a major UK food retailer.
For the next 15 years Holly has worked in her own successful accounting practice before merging her business with Sterling Grove Accountants in 2024.
Holly is married with two teenage children.
Alfie Amasanti ACCA
Qualified Accountant
Alfie joined the firm in 2025 after working in the London offices of BDO and Hardwick and Morris.
During his time with Hardwick and Morris Alfie gained valuable experience working for clients in the music and entertainment industry.
His time at BDO was spent in the Real Estate and Construction team where he was promoted to Assistant Manager.
In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and football and is also a keen skier.
Arun Lul
Trainee Accountant
Arun joined the team in 2025 after successfully completing his Physics degree from Bristol University.
Arun is working towards his ACCA qualification.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading and computer games.
Alessandro Amasanti ACA
Client Manager
Alessandro joined the firm in 2020 after qualifying with a top 20 accounting practice.
He is the firm’s senior lead auditor and supervisor and brings to the firm invaluable skills and insight.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching his beloved Arsenal play and is a regular at the Emirates stadium.

Giacomo Amasanti ACCA
Qualified Accountant
Giacomo graduated from Bristol University with a first class honours degree in Economics.
He is also a qualified accountant having successfully completed the ACCA exams.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing football and futsal and is an avid follower of Arsenal and the Italian National football team.

Colin Lewin ACA
Senior Client Advisor
Colin graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Economics.
After University Colin qualified and worked in industry before setting up his own accounting practice in 1990 before merging this practice with Sterling Grove Accountants in 2025.
Colin’s successful accounting career in practice spans over 35 years where he has advised his portfolio of businesses and individuals.
Colin’s passions is his family and is a doting grandfather to his grandson.
In his spare time, you can find Colin on the golf course or watching his beloved Liverpool FC.

Teresa Fay
Practice Administrator
Teresa has been working with the firm and its predecessor firm for over ten years.
She is the practice administrator and her versatility and skills are also used in assisting with company secretarial, payroll and credit control.
Outside of work Teresa spends her time looking after her grand daughter which keeps her on her toes.
Teresa’s passion is travelling and enjoys visiting many diverse countries and cities across the world.
Charlie Amasanti
Trainee Accountant
Charlie joined the firm in early 2022 and has made a good start to his ACCA qualification by successfully completing all the exams he has taken.
He brings youthful enthusiasm to the firm and is always eager to learn and progress.
Charlie’s passion is sports and especially football where he played at professional academy level for a number of years.

Alexandra Burger
Trainee Accountant
Alexandra joined the firm in 2026.
Originally from Kazakhstan where she began her career as a maths teacher after graudating from University with a first class degree in Finance.
She has been progressing through the AAT exams and will be moving towards the ACCA exams.
She is married with a young daughter.

Sean O'Brien FCA
Senior Client Manager
A member of the ICAEW since 2011.
Sean brings extensive experience working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. He has been instrumental in implementing modern accounting software and systems, enabling businesses to embrace smarter, faster accounting systems.
Outside of work, Sean can usually be found cheering on Queens Park Rangers or attempting to perfect his swing on the golf course – with varying degrees of success.
Anita Halai FCCA
Qualified Account Senior
Anita joined the firm as part of the Diverset Accountants merger in 2025.
She has over 14 years experience in the accountancy profession across diverse industries, from small family businesses to fast growing companies, helping them understand their finances and make confident decisions. Her clear approachable style has made her a trusted adviser.
Outside of work, she is a busy mum of two who enjoys socialising with family and friends.
